RCMP looking for man, 21, after reports of gunshots in Thompson Saturday

Manitoba RCMP say they’re looking for a 21-year-old man in connection with reports of gunshots in Thompson Saturday night.

Thompson RCMP responded to a call of gunshots around 7:00 p.m. Saturday outside a residence on Duke Place , Mounties said in a news release.

Officers found a residence with a bullet hole through the window when they arrived, but the lone occupant of the home wasn’t injured, the release said.

Witnesses said they saw a man run from the area and officers started searching for the suspect, the release said.

Almost an hour later, officers responded to a second report of gunshots in the area of Brandon Crescent and began extensive patrols, the release said.

RCMP said they believe the two shootings were targeted.

The release also said RCMP believe the shootings are linked two a 21-year-old named Tyrell Porter, who is wanted for multiple firearms offences from a previous shooting.

RCMP said Porter may still be in the Thompson area and is considered armed and dangerous. Mounties are asking anyone who sees him to call Thompson RCMP at 204-677-6909 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, online through the agency’s website.
