A Toronto police officer was taken to hospital after investigating a stopped vehicle, the force said on social media Wednesday evening.

Police have not disclosed the severity of the officer’s injuries

A Toronto police officer was taken to hospital after they were shot investigating a stopped vehicle, the force said in a post on social media Wednesday evening.

Police say the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue. One person was arrested at the scene while another suspect is outstanding, police said in a post on X.

Police did not share details about the nature of the officer’s injuries and said more information will be shared soon.
