Pedestrian struck by freight train in southwest Calgary
A pedestrian was struck by a freight train in southwest Calgary on Thursday evening.
The incident happened near 11th Street S.W., between 9th and 10th avenues, just after 6:30 p.m.
Police say a male was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
YYC Transportation says the road is closed and is asking motorists to use alternate routes.
Police have set up those closures while they investigate.
Calgary Transit said Red Line CTrains were running behind as well and asked for passenger patience.
