Man wanted for allegedly assaulting Scotiabank Arena security guard with blunt object
A 41-year-old man is wanted for allegedly assaulting a security guard with a blunt object at Scotiabank Arena last Thursday.
Toronto police said they received a call for an assault at the downtown arena on the afternoon of Dec. 12.
A man who walked away from the premises after being asked to leave by a security guard allegedly returned later and assaulted the guard.
Police said the guard suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result and was taken to the hospital.
On Tuesday, investigators identified the suspect as Lionel Vernon. He is wanted for aggravated assault.
Police released a photo of Vernon, asking for the public’s help in locating him. He is described as six-foot-two, weighing 220 pounds, bald, with a medium build and black or grey facial hair.
Vernon was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweater, a green camouflage jacket, blue jeans, and black and white shoes.
