Metro Line partially closed to commuters Thursday morning, bus replacement service running

Edmonton commuters relying on the Metro Line LRT will have to make alternate plans after part of the train line was unexpectedly shut down Thursday morning.

According to Edmonton Transit Services, the line has been temporarily shut between Churchill and NAIT stations due to an “unexpected incident.”

As of 7:30 a.m., that part of the transit line remained offline.

Commuters are advised to use the Capital Line if travelling south of Churchill Station.

Bus replacement service is being provided between the Churchill and NAIT stations.

It’s unclear when the line will fully resume operation. Transit officials had no further details on the incident but are expected to release more information later today.
