Child rushed to hospital after being hit by vehicle in northwest Calgary
A child was taken to hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in northwest Calgary at around 8:30 Monday morning.
The child is an 11-year-old boy, Calgary police told Global News.
The intersection of Royal Oak Drive NW and Royal Terrace NW was blocked off by police as of 9 a.m.
Personal items — like a bag, clothing and shoes — were visible at the scene of the collision.
Police said impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver stayed at the scene, CPS said.
Police escorted the ambulance to hospital.
The area was closed off by police tape and pylons.
