Family and friends grieve death of 36-year-old Lethbridge man in motorcycle crash
Family members and friends are mourning the loss of a 36-year-old Lethbridge man killed in motorcycle crash just two days before Christmas.
David Jensen is being remembered as a genuine and humble family man who took pride in customizing motorcycles and was a huge part of the local riding community along with his business D2 Custom Carpentry.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Dani and his son Hudson, who just turned 16 years old.
Jensen was killed around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 while travelling westbound along 24 Ave. South, when he collided with the driver of an SUV making a left turn eastbound.
No one in the SUV was hurt.
A GoFundMe page has since been set up to help Jensen’s family through this incredibly difficult time, and to raise money for funeral expenses.
“You just don’t expect something like this to happen at this time of the year and the cost that can accumulate quite quickly,” said family friend Chris Jochem, who set up the GoFundMe page.
“The funds are really going to help the family with that in the short term,” he added, “and then they’re going to help Hudson as well, but especially for Hudson, giving him a little bit of extra hand in the coming years that he doesn’t have his dad.
“If he can have a little extra help to get him going in life than that’s going to be really helpful for the family,” Jochem added.
An investigation into Jensen’s death is still ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera footage is asked to contact Lethbridge police.
