Northbound Deerfoot Trail shut down due to crash
Emergency crews are at the scene of a crash on Deerfoot Trail that’s shut down the northbound lanes of the highway near 16 Avenue N.E.
Officials say the multi-vehicle crash took place at about 6:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway.
As of 7:30 a.m., police shut down a section of Deerfoot Trail for the collision.
Officials said a truck rolled over at the scene and one person was taken to hospital.
“One man was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injures were reported and the other motorists stayed at the scene,” police said in a statement on Tuesday.
As of 8:30 a.m., the roads are still closed, but police said they would reopen soon.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
