19-year-old dead after vehicle crashed into grain truck on Highway 5: Dauphin RCMP

A 19-year-old man died on Tuesday morning after his vehicle crashed into a grain truck on Highway 5 in western Manitoba, Dauphin RCMP say.

Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 5, east of the community of Grandview, shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.

A vehicle travelling west on Highway 5 is believed to have crossed the centre line before colliding with a grain truck headed east, police say.

The man driving the vehicle, a 19-year-old from Grandview, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

The driver of the grain truck, a 72-year-old man from Grandview, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Dauphin RCMP say their investigation into the collision continues.
