COVID-19 in Sask: Gov’t plans daycare for kids of ‘essential’ health care workers

The Saskatchewan government is making plans to repurpose daycares attached to schools and use those facilities to provide care for the children of health care workers and other “essential” professionals needed to fight the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the province.

The government laid out the early contours of its plan in a March 19 letter to parents of school-based daycares signed by Gerry Craswell, an assistant deputy minister in the education ministry overseen by Gord Wyant. The letter was obtained by CBC News.
