2 teen boys critically injured in 1 of 4 separate shootings in Toronto on Sunday

Police are investigating four separate shootings in Toronto on Sunday, including one that left two teen boys with critical injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Humber Boulevard and Alliance Avenue at about 2:40 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds.

Police said a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy were rushed to hospital in critical condition.

No information on suspects has been released.

Const. Alex Li, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, said up to 15 gunshots were heard.

“It’s concerning, especially with young people being shot,” Li told reporters at the scene.

“It’s tough on any day, but especially on Father’s Day, and many of us are fathers and this hits home.”

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area as police investigated.

Police looking into 3 other shootings

At about 4:15 p.m., police received reports of several gunshots heard in the area of Allen Road and Lawrence Avenue West. 

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said he has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are also investigating another shooting in the area of Caledonia Road and Lawrence Avenue West. Officers received a report of gunfire at 4:25 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man without vital signs, police say.

At around 8:06 p.m., police said four people were taken to hospital after a shooting in Scarborough.

Police said it happened in the area of McCowan Road and Milner Avenue, north of Highway 401.

When officers arrived, they found four people suffering from gunshot wounds who were rushed to hospital: two with life-threatening injuries, one with serious injuries and one with minor injuries.

Police have not released any information about suspects.
