Woman charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal Newmarket stabbing
A 30-year-old Toronto woman has been charged with second-degree murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Newmarket.
Police responded to a report of an injured man at an apartment near Main Street and Millard Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, York police said in a news release.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed.
The victim, Blake Bibby, 36, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accused and the victim knew each other, police said Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
