4 killed in fiery single-car crash in downtown Toronto
Four people were killed and another person injured in a single-vehicle crash in downtown Toronto early Thursday, police say.
The fiery collision happened around 12:10 a.m. in the area of Lake Shore Boulevard E. and Cherry Street.
According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a barrier.
When first responders arrived on scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, Toronto Fire said.
Four people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
A fifth person was pulled from the burning car by a bystander, police said. They were taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life- threatening injuries.
Police have closed roads in the area for their investigation.
