Waterloo regional police are investigating an altercation at a Kitchener park that led to a stabbing and an amber alert.
A woman has been arrested, police continue to look for a man, after two young girls were reported missing in Kitchener, Ont., on Monday night.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service said in a statement posted to social media that the two girls were located safely.
The two girls had been reported missing on Monday night, with police issuing a news release early Tuesday morning.
Police said the girls went missing from Kitchener’s Chicopee neighbourhood, near River Road E. and Kinzie Avenue.
Police responded to a park in that area after an altercation between a group that had gathered there.
Police earlier said that during the alleged abduction two men had received stab wounds and were taken to hospital.
Two people were arrested in connection to the stabbing incident.
They say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released Tuesday morning.
