Garbage truck hits TTC streetcar wires at King and Spadina, intersection closed
The intersection of King Street and Spadina Avenue is closed after a garbage truck struck overhead TTC streetcar wires Monday morning.
Police said the truck made contact with the overhead wires during morning rush hour, at approximately 8:15 a.m.
No injuries were reported, but the intersection is now closed as live wires were downed as a result of the impact.
The 504 King streetcar route is diverting while the closure is in place.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.
It’s unclear how the garbage truck made contact with the wires.
