Man dies after being trapped in industrial machine in Etobicoke

A man has died after being caught in a piece of industrial machinery in Etobicoke on Thursday night, police and fire crews said.
Officers were called to the area near Highway 27 and Belfield Expressway around 10:15 p.m. after reports of a man seriously injured in an industrial machine, Toronto police said in a post on X on Thursday.
Fire crews said they arrived to find the man trapped in the machinery. Crews isolated power to stop the machinery from continuing to move and then attempted to extricate him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
Fire crews and police did not identify the type of machinery involved.
