Man wanted for allegedly assaulting, forcing woman into vehicle in Missisauga
Police in Peel Region are looking for a man who was allegedly seen hitting a woman and forcing her into a fleeing vehicle in Mississauga earlier this week.
The incident happened on Tuesday near Mississauga Road and Meadowvale Boulevard.
Peel Regional Police (PRP) said they were called to that area at around 11:45 a.m. for reports of a physical altercation between a man and a woman.
They said that the suspect drove away in a black 2006 Acura MDX SUV with the Ontario licence plate DARP182. It has a gold Acura emblem and front-end damage.
Investigators said they tried stopping the vehicle, however the driver did not stop and managed to evade police.
He has since been identified as 48-year-old Bryan Devereaux, of Kitchener.
The suspect is described white and five-foot-seven with a slim build.
Deveraux was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and black rimmed glasses with yellow tint.
Police are urging him to get a lawyer and surrender to authorities.
The woman is described as in her early 30s and five-foot-four with a medium build. She was last seen wearing a full-length parka.
The relationship between the suspect and the female is “unclear” at this point, Const. Tyler Bell-Morna, of PRP, told CP24.
Anyone who sees Deveraux or the Acura SUV is asked to not approach, but instead to call 9-1-1 immediately.
Investigators are asking anyone with further information about the suspect or his whereabouts to call PRP’s 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453–2121, ext. 1133, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
