Police search for missing woman with dementia last seen in Etobicoke
Toronto police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a woman with dementia who has been missing for days and isn’t dressed for winter weather.
Rose, 61, was last seen Sunday, at about 12:40 a.m. in the area of Dixon Road and Martin Grove Road.
Speaking with reporters Monday afternoon, Staff Sgt. Gavin Jansz said Rose — who also goes by Lilith — may be disoriented or unfamiliar with her surroundings.
She also doesn’t have any identification, money or a cellphone with her, he added.
“We are very concerned for her safety,” Jansz said. “The nights are very cold, and when Rose was last seen she was not dressed appropriately for the weather.”
Police said she was last seen wearing a black bonnet, a white sweater with black detailing, a red shirt, baby blue UGG shoes, and carrying a black and grey bag.
Jansz said police are asking people to be on the lookout and call police or 911 if they think they’ve seen Rose.
“We need your help to locate Rose and bring her home safely with her family,” he said. “Please keep your eyes open — whether you’re out this evening or on the TTC, at a coffee shop, or in your neighbourhood.
“Check your backyards, sheds or any other area where someone might seek shelter.”
