Section of QEW closed after crash in Oakville: OPP
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say westbound lanes on a section of the Queen Elizabeth Way are closed due to a crash in Oakville.
Police say the highway is closed to Fort Eerie-bound traffic at Winston Churchill Boulevard due to a “sudden death investigation” at Royal Windsor Drive. Southbound lanes on Highway 403 are also closed at Upper Middle Road East.
The closure is expected to last “several” hours, police said. Toronto-bound lanes are unaffected by the closure.
The OPP said motorists looking to head westbound can rejoin traffic at Trafalgar Road.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
