The victim, a man, was listed in life-threatening condition on Thursday night, according to police.

Police said they were called to Wilson station at about 5:30 p.m.

Toronto paramedics said the man in his 50s was taken to a trauma centre.

Following the stabbing, the station was evacuated and subway trains bypassed it as police investigated. Bus routes were being diverted away from the station and shuttle buses were running between Sheppard West and Yorkdale stations.

“All the details that lead up to the stabbing, including if it was targeted, is still being investigated,” Eames said.

Police said they have arrested a woman, who suffered minor injuries. Paramedics said a woman in her 20s was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The suspect being sought by police is described as a male, five foot eleven. He was wearing all black clothing.
