Toronto, GTA under freezing drizzle advisory on Thursday: Environment Canada
Freezing drizzle is expected in Toronto and the GTA on Thursday, continuing from the morning into the early afternoon, Environment Canada said.
The federal weather agency issued a weather advisory on Thursday morning, saying the freezing drizzle will be mixed with light snow.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery,” Environment Canada said.
People are advised to take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
The following areas are also under a freezing drizzle advisory: Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, Brampton, Durham Region, Pickering, Oshawa, Oakville, Newmarket, Halton Hills, Hamilton and Collingwood.
Bus services to all Halton District and Halton Catholic District schools have been cancelled due to the weather, Halton Student Transportation Services said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, Thursday morning. All schools remain open.
