Toronto man wanted on Canada-wide warrant for 2nd-degree murder

A Toronto man has been identified as a suspect in the shooting death of another Toronto man in Moss Park more than a week ago.

Dellano Robertson-Berry, 24, is wanted on a Canada-Wide warrant for the second-degree murder of Lyle Pounall, 43 on Feb. 5, Toronto police said in a news release on Friday.

The shooting happened in the area of Sherbourne Street and Queen Street E. Police said they were called to the area shortly after 8 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found Pounall suffering from a gunshot wound. Police tried to save his life. Toronto paramedics then took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Pounall is the city’s third homicide victim of the year.

Following the shooting, police said the shooter fled the scene and they believe no vehicle was involved.

Robertson-Berry is described as five foot seven, with a medium build. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police said if anyone sees him, they should not approach but should call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 416-808-7400, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
