Man, woman killed, suspect in custody after shooting at Oshawa home
A man and a woman are dead and another man in custody after a shooting in Oshawa, Durham Regional Police say.
Officers responded to the sound of gunshots at a home in the area of Jane Avenue and Glenforest Street Saturday around 12:35 p.m., Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss told reporters.
They located a 42-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Bortoluss said paramedics were transporting him to hospital but he died before he got there.
Officers then learned about a second home on Glenforest Street, where they found a 42-year-old female who had also been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested a 30-year-old male “without incident,” Bortuluss said. Bortuluss said the suspect is known to the two victims, but this is not a “domestic-related incident.”
“The motives behind this murder is not known at this time and as part of the ongoing investigation,” Bortoluss said.
There is no risk to public safety at this time, according to police.
