Youth charged after making violent threats against York Region high school: police
A boy has been charged after police say he made violent threats against a secondary school in York Region.
In a release, York Regional Police said they went to a secondary school on Dec. 18, after the accused allegedly threatened to “bring a firearm and cause harm at the school.”
Police have not publicly identified the school.
“A number of firearms were seized” after police executed a search warrant at the male youth’s home, police said in a release Monday.
The accused has been charged with uttering threats and possessing a restricted firearm without a licence.
He is not being identified per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
