A man has died and two teens have been charged after a fatal assault in downtown Winnipeg on Sunday evening, police say.

A man has died and two teens have been charged after a fatal assault in downtown Winnipeg on Sunday evening, police say.
Officers found a man with multiple upper body injuries after they responded to a report of an assault near Central Park around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police said in a news release on Wednesday.
Steven Loonfoot, 45, was given two chest seals and taken to hospital in critical condition, police said. He died from his injuries.
Loonfoot was a member of Garden Hill First Nation and had lived in Winnipeg for several years.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested nearby shortly after the assault. A second 16-year-old boy was also arrested.
Both have been charged with second-degree murder, police said.
