Man charged in connection to July homicide of woman, 28, in Winnipeg

A man who Winnipeg police say was involved in the July homicide of Ashley Isabella Murdock has been arrested and charged.

Devon Charlie Colomb, 26, was wanted for accessory to murder in the death of 28-year-old Murdock, whose body was found July 5 at an apartment complex on Kennedy Street between Ellice and Qu’Appelle avenues.

Colomb was located and arrested on Sunday, police said in a Monday news release.

Murdock, who was originally from Fisher River and Jackhead First Nation but living in Winnipeg, was reported missing on July 3.

She had not been in contact with family or community members since June 26, police said at the time her body was discovered.

Police also said her remains had been moved from another location to the apartment complex.

On July 19, police announced that a woman and two men had been arrested but that they were still looking for Colomb.

Kelly Marie Kroeker, 32, is charged with second-degree murder while Charles Harold Wood, 38, and Kenneth Walter Young, 28, are both charged with accessory to murder.
