Pedestrian killed in Winnipeg was mom of 3 who ‘loved her boys with everything in her heart’: family
The pedestrian killed in a collision this week was a 32-year-old mother of three, who will be remembered for her love for her boys and making those around her laugh, her family says.
A vigil will be held Tuesday night for Loretta Morrine Green, 32, who family members confirm was the person hit by a vehicle at Notre Dame Avenue and McPhillips Street in Winnipeg shortly after midnight on Monday.
She was taken to hospital in unstable condition, where she later died.
“We’re gonna miss her so much,” Diane Thomas, Green’s mother, told CBC News via Facebook. Green leaves three young boys behind, said Thomas.
“My daughter was always happy when she was with us, she loved her boys with everything in her heart,” she said. “She loved to joke around with her siblings and always made us laugh.”
A candlelight vigil will be held near the scene of the collision at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to honour Green’s memory and remember “remarkable life taken too soon,” a Facebook post said.
Police previously said the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision stayed at the scene and spoke to officers.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing and no charges had been laid as of Monday, police said.
