Winnipeg man, 51, charged with sexual exploitation, sexual assault of incarcerated teen
A 51-year-old man has been charged with sexual exploitation after Winnipeg police say he gave her extra canteen items and then sexually assaulted her.
Troy David Wensel was arrested on Tuesday after a teen reported she had been sexually assaulted while she was an inmate at the Manitoba youth corrections centre in 2022 and 2023, a police news release said Thursday.
Wensel worked at the facility during that time as a youth counsellor, police said.
Wensel is charged with sexual assault, exploitation and obtaining sexual service.
He was released with conditions, including not interacting with anyone 18 or younger.
